The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing started the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his own means, entering the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This means them little choice but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
